Where To Satisfy Your Late Night Food Cravings
If you’re a night owl and need a late night snack, you’re in luck! Houston has an array of late-night restaurants that are open very late. By late night, we don’t just mean, say, 11 p.m. These restaurants are open until the wee small hours of the morning. Some are proud of being open 24/7.
Katz’s Restaurant and Deli
It says it all that Katz’s website address is ilovekatzs. Houstonians do. Not only do they love the matzo balls, the egg creams, and the pastrami on rye, they can love it 24 hours a day, because that’s how long it’s open. Enjoy!
In the mood for Vietnamese sticky rice? Vermicelli rice patties with shrimp? A Vietnamese crepe stuffed with pork, shrimp, onions, and bean sprouts sound mouth-watering? You can have it all at Mai’s Restaurant. Mai’s is open until 3 a.m. on weekdays, 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday. (They are closed on Sunday.) Can you say “hungry”?
There are four locations of the wonderful El Rey Cuban and Mexican restaurant in Houston. The one on 910 Shepherd Drive is the late night owl’s friend. It’s open until 3 a.m. from Thursday until Saturday, 12 midnight Monday through Wednesday. (The other locations are open until 10.) The food at El Rey is incredibly good; anything, literally anything, is worth ordering.
