Sport Your Favorite Green Getup
Every March, the city of Houston celebrates Irish culture with a giant community parade. Everyone in the area is invited to sport their favorite green getup while enjoying the food, drinks, music and dancing.
The Houston St. Patrick's Day Parade is going on for its 57th year and is proud to honor Mr. John B. Kane as the 2016 Grand Marshal. This year, the parade is scheduled to take place, rain or shine, this Saturday, March 12th, at 12pm. Attendants will enjoy Irish music, dancing, and all of Houston’s finest Celtic cuisine. As a participant, you'll see the many creative floats, dressed-up cars and much more Irish pride!
Feeling festive before the big day? Houston has many other opportunities for residents looking to celebrate early.
Shay McElroy's Irish Pub was designed to look like a 19th century bar from the heart of Ireland! Enjoy traditional Irish beers, and an authentic menu that features different daily specials along with Corned Beef sandwiches, Turkey Reubens, and Southwest Eggrolls.
For those looking to make the festivities last all day long, come to Lucky’s Pub in downtown for domestic draft beers, house wines and more. Lucky’s will also be hosting a Karback Cook-Off featuring chili, chicken and other award winning dishes. 100% of the proceeds will benefit four different firefighter foundations in the community.
