Lace Up Your Running Shoes for Local Races
Running is a fun way to enjoy the outdoors while at the same time improving your cardiovascular health, joint strength, and mental well-being.
If you would like to lace up your running shoes, consider participating in the following races where you are sure to have a good time:
John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run (February 16)
Held rain or shine, the Law Week Fun Run benefits The Center which is a nonprofit corporation that helps individuals with intellectual disabilities reach their full potential and contribute to society. This race kicks off at 8:00 a.m., and is sanctioned by the USATF. All participants receive a T-shirt, and awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group.
Jail Break Run 1/2 Marathon & 5K (February 23)
The Jail Break Run is where everyone is encouraged to run like they've just broken out of jail. Each runner raises money for police officers who face non-service related injuries and illnesses, and the route features stunning views of the Houston Ship Channel and Baytown, Texas. Participants will receive a swag bag and delicious sandwich from Chick-Fil-A at the finish line.
The Woodlands Marathon (March 2)
The Woodlands Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon, and it's a popular race that's limited to 8,000 runners. The event promotes healthy active lifestyles and raises money for local and national nonprofit organizations. The route offers water stops throughout, and the finish line is behind the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Those who don't wish to run 26.2 miles can enter the half marathon or 5K run instead.
Running is just one of the many activities that residents of Alexan Enclave Apartments can enjoy. To call our community home, please contact us to arrange a showing where you can learn about our leasing options while seeing firsthand all we have to offer.
