Three of Houston's Best Poke Restaurants
Poke restaurants have officially taken over Houston, and according to Eater Houston, the trend shows no sign of slowing down.
For those unfamiliar, poke restaurants typically follow a similar formula where diners choose a base of rice or salad, a protein tossed in sauce, and garnishes such as crab and avocado.
If you would like to try poke for dinner tonight, head to one of the following restaurants:
Pokii Eatery introduces an alternative way to enjoy premium quality sushi and boasts that its standards in poke are next to none. This restaurant took two years to develop, and the owners are committed to bringing a better lifestyle to the community by providing diners with fresh food and creating positive emotional connections that will help sustain their personal lives. For your meal, choose octopus, tuna, or shrimp tempura, which can be tossed in an array of sauces and set on a bed of brown rice or mixed greens. Garnishes such as pineapple and cucumber complete the bowl.
Pokeology states that it's redefining and expanding the city's food culture right in the heart of Rice Village. Executive Chef Jason Liao has more than a decade of sushi chef experience and was featured in an edition of Houstonia Magazine. He is constantly creating new poke bowls, and in a modern atmosphere, guests can enjoy choices such as Sun Kiss Ono, Applemachi, and Shaggy.
Ono Poke was Houston's first poke restaurant, and it's known for offering non-traditional bases, sauces, and toppings. Guests give it 4.5-stars on Yelp as they enjoy the service, quality, and the fact they can enjoy a signature bowl or create their own. Dining is available inside or out, and signature bowls include spicy yellowtail, spicy salmon, and sweet chili ahi.
