That's when the 37th annual Katy Rice Harvest Festival takes place, and with food, crafts, and entertainment, there is something for everyone.
It's held in downtown Katy, just twenty minutes from Alexan Enclave, and is known as one of the top ten festivals in the Houston area.
The celebration came about when members of the community wanted to combine educating people about rice through farmer demonstrations with an arts and crafts show.
Today, it welcomes more than 45,000 people who shop and eat from more than three hundred booths and sing along during the live musical performances.
Artists taking to the stage include:
Texas Humdingers - James Casassa founded the Texas Humdingers for an office party in July 2011. The members came up with the name while listening to "Good Golly Miss Molly" as one of the lines go "she's a real humdinger, and I like that." The group performs country and rock songs from the 60s and 70s, and entertain audiences throughout the Houston area.
Already Gone - Already Gone formed in 2006 and is known as one of the premier Eagles tribute bands in the South. It's made up of five veterans of the Houston rock scene who perform songs in classic Eagles style such as "Desperado," "Hotel California," and "Heartache Tonight."
